About the NIELIT Internship

The NIELIT Internship Programme offers students practical work experience under the guidance of experienced supervisors, encouraging active participation in learning through experimentation and practical application of classroom knowledge. The National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) offers the internship program, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.NIELIT Daman provides internship training to Engineering and Polytechnic Diploma students with mutually agreeable terms. The fee is Rs 1000 per candidate. NIELIT also has centres in Gorakhpur, Calicut, and Patna. NIELIT Calicut offers internships in areas like Embedded Systems, VLSI, Power Electronics, Process Control and Instrumentation, CAD/ CAM and Information Technology.

About the program

NIELIT, Kolkata offers a Work Based Learning Programme in the following domains: AI/ML, Cyber Security, Blockchain, Web Development, and Data Science. The selected candidates will be mentored by the scientists and experts of NIELIT. Number of Vacancies- 12 Nos (SC/ST: 5 & Women/EWS: 7) The Number of vacancies may vary, depending on the requirements of the centre. Eligibility: Candidates (SC, ST, Women and EWS category) passed out Graduate Engineers or equivalent, M.Sc. or M.C.A. in last 3 years, with the following specializations are eligible: 1. B.E. or B.Tech (any discipline) and engineering graduates 2. M.Sc. (any discipline) 3. Master of Computer Applications (M.C.A). Final-year students can also apply.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the NIELIT Internship Program, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Educational Background: Undergraduate students pursuing B.Tech./B.E./B.Sc./BCA, or postgraduate students pursuing M.Tech./M.E./M.Sc./MCA. Both ongoing and completed students are eligible.

Registration Fees: A non-refundable registration fee of ₹5,000 is required.

Terms of Engagement

1. Only ST, SC, EWS and Women candidates are eligible.

2. Final year candidates OR Last 3-year pass-outs of B.Tech. or M.C.A. or M.Sc. candidates are eligible.

3. Candidates of the seventh and eighth-semester engineering graduates and M.Sc or M.C.A last year candidates must submit their N.O.C issued by their respective institutes before the interview.
